Great Week for El Paso's Artie Bennett Monday, April 28th, 2014 24-year-old Artie Bennett made a few El Paso headlines during this past week as the rookie first baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Kade Stenson League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 15 hits in 24 at-bats to put up a .625 average. Bennett collected 6 home runs, 19 RBIs and scored 11 runs. This season Bennett is batting .441 with 30 hits, 7 home runs, 27 RBIs, .512 OBP and has scored 16 runs. |
