San Francisco's Ray Lester Injured
Saturday, September 22nd, 2012
The San Francisco Earthquakes were dealt a severe blow when Ray Lester was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Maple Marauders. After the game, the team trainer reported Lester might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 36-year-old starting pitcher out for the rest of the season with a torn meniscus. They indicated it would take Lester at least 3 months to heal.

Lester has made 30 starts, tossed 194.2 innings, struck out 179 batters and walked 33. His record is 19-3 with a 3.05 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .249 batting average.
