Roberto Clemente League Names Rookie of Month Saturday, September 1st, 2012 A veritable toddler to the Roberto Clemente League, Steve Frend just sewed up the Rookie of the Month trophy for August. Over the past month the 23-year-old right fielder for Seattle hit .495 with 49 hits, 11 home runs and 34 RBI. He also logged 30 walks and compiled a .612 on-base percentage. During the current season Frend is batting at a .394 clip with 36 home runs and 121 RBIs. He has played in 116 games and scored 147 times. |
