McCreary Tags Mafia for 5 Hits
Friday, September 7th, 2018
What a day for Tim McCreary of the So Cal Republic! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped New York pitching apart at Don Corleone Park and sparked the Republic to a 14-3 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," McCreary told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
Tim McCreary singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Curt Rhodes in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Aaron Taylor in the 6th and hit an RBI triple in the 8th.
On the season, McCreary is batting .346 with 34 home runs and 135 RBIs. He has played in 140 games.
