No Comeback Likely For Chandler Matthews, Career Probably Over Sunday, September 2nd, 2018 A tearful Chandler Matthews stood with Jacksonville Jacks officials and teammates as he announced that his baseball career was over. The 26-year-old reliever was recovering from a torn rotator cuff, but the injury recently became worse and doctors recommended that he retire from the game. "It's really hard to leave because I love to play baseball," Matthews explained to reporters. "I'll miss playing baseball and living out my childhood dream, but I'll always cherish the memories I have. Despite this bad break, life has been good to me." |
