League Suspends Hernández and Merritt for Brawl Friday, August 17th, 2018 During a recent Seattle-Kansas City game at Sick's Stadium, Jesús Hernández of the Sasquatch and Martin Merritt of the Tornadoes got into an altercation on the field and had to be separated from each other as the benches emptied. Both players knew they would have to face the music and today the league commissioner's office announced their punishments. They have been given 5-game suspensions because of their actions. In 2018 Hernández has hit at a .286 clip with 65 hits, 19 home runs, 52 RBIs and has scored 48 times. Thus far this season, Merritt has tossed 139 innings in 24 starts, fanned 75 batters, walked 41 and put up a 4.66 ERA with 9 wins and 6 losses. |
