Estes Humbles Eureka Sunday, July 15th, 2018 "Steve Estes is really a good pitcher when he throws strikes early in the count," said his manager after the Kansas City hurler tossed a complete game 3-hit shutout against the Eureka Hornets. "I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Estes. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings." Estes walked 2 and struck out 8 in the 1-0 victory. In 18 starts this year Estes has posted 5 wins while suffering 5 losses. He has pitched 95 innings, allowed 110 hits, struck out 97 and has a 5.49 ERA. |
