ABL News: First-Year Player Draft
Thursday, June 7th, 2018
For players entering the 2018 draft today, there is nothing quite like the anticipation of being picked. And yet, the draft is unsettling to one and all. Almost from the first, things go haywire. Promises and mock drafts go up the chimney. To the young rookie, the pressure ends upon his selection, if only for a short interlude before reality sets in. Dallas, Mile High, Fort Worth, San Diego and Georgia are the first five teams to pick this year. BNN has predicted these players to be among the first ten selected:

1. Shadi bin Mufeed, 17 year-old center fielder out of college.
2. Mike Barnes, 22 year-old left fielder out of college.
3. Júlio Segura, 22 year-old catcher out of college.
4. Ray Larrison, 22 year-old right fielder out of college.
5. Carlos Ávila, 22 year-old center fielder out of college.
6. Abalendu Manglorkar, 17 year-old shortstop out of college.
7. Andrew Weber, 22 year-old center fielder out of college.
8. Dayne Reagan, 22 year-old second baseman out of college.
9. Phil Decker, 22 year-old left fielder out of college.
10. Bartolo Valentín, 22 year-old center fielder out of college.
