Toyoda Smacks 5 Hits for Tornadoes Tuesday, May 8th, 2018 Akio Toyoda really did a number on the Hops in the Kansas City 10-2 victory. Not just anyone can get 5 hits in 6 at-bats. But Akio Toyoda did just that today for the Tornadoes and gave his batting average a healthy boost and sparked his club in the win. "I felt real good in the batter's box today. I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done," the 26-year-old first baseman said after his record-setting performance. Akio Toyoda singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and flied out in the 9th. This year Toyoda is batting .302 with 8 home runs. |
