Rodríguez Is King of Swing: Goes Deep 3 Times Wednesday, April 18th, 2018 Luis Rodríguez of the Minnesota Berserkers had a lot to celebrate in today's 7-6 win over the Carolina Crush. Three times he celebrated by pounding the ball out of The Frozen Tundra. He kiddingly told reporters after the game, "Hopefully, I can continue to close my eyes and swing as hard as I can. It worked well today." The powerful Minnesota second baseman tagged 4 hits in 6 at-bats, drove in 4 runs and scored 3 times in his three-homer outburst. Rodríguez added, "Seriously, I just try to swing early and often to give myself a chance. I let the pitcher supply all the power, I just try to figure out how to get the bat on the ball." "We talked about changing our strategy for the third one ... and then he hit another homer," the Carolina manager said. "We just couldn't get him out." Luis Rodríguez hit a two-run home run off Ken Forley in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Ánibal Machado in the 9th, walked in the 10th and hit a solo-shot off Jarrod Randolph in the 13th. For the year Rodríguez is batting .386 with 5 home runs. |
