Monday, July 31st, 2017
Several Mafia and Jacks players soon will have to start shopping for a new home. It was announced today that the two teams came to agreement on a trade. New York will get 25-year-old minor league right fielder Edmond Bouet and 22-year-old minor league reliever Greg Peoples and Jacksonville will pick up 26-year-old catcher Héctor Chávez, 25-year-old minor league shortstop Jeremy Evans and 21-year-old minor league starting pitcher Takuji Taguchi in return. "I'm not surprised by the news," one of the players told reporters, "It's part of the business and I understand that. I am looking forward to playing for the Mafia."

For the season Chávez is hitting .273, batted in 40 runs with 7 home runs and 53 runs scored.
