Mata Ups Hit Streak to 25 Consecutive Games

José Carlos Mata's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 25 games. The Fort Worth center fielder smacked 1 hit against Nottinghamshire in today's game at Panthers Park to extend it, but he has mixed emotions about it.
After losing to the Nottinghamshire Outlaws, Mata told reporters, "I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose."
José Carlos Mata singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and struck out in the 7th.
This year Mata is batting .352 with 17 home runs and 68 RBIs. In 101 games he has scored 63 times.
