Frude Smacks 5 Hits for Texans
Thursday, July 13th, 2017
Players get multihit games all the time. But a 5-hit game comes around only once in a blue moon. It happened at Metroplex Park when Bill Frude of Dallas scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the New York Mafia.
He walloped 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Texans get by the Mafia 8-7.
In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the first baseman of the Texans said, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 5-5. I could get used to a lot of days like this one."
Bill Frude hit an RBI triple in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Fred Butler in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Frude is hitting .311 this year with 9 home runs and 50 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .340, 16 walks and scored 36 times.
