Hornets Anthony Atkinson Sidelined Wednesday, June 14th, 2017 The Eureka Hornets were dealt a severe blow when Anthony Atkinson was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Nottinghamshire Outlaws. After the game, the team trainer reported Atkinson might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 23-year-old starting pitcher out for the rest of the season with a damaged elbow ligament. They indicated it would take Atkinson at least 12 months to heal. To date this season Atkinson is 4-6 with 14 starts and an ERA of 4.17 with 65 strikeouts in 73.1 innings. |
