5-Hit Barrage by García Friday, May 12th, 2017 It was a hits blitz for Juan García at Sick's Stadium. The Seattle Sasquatch center fielder tore into So Cal for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace the Sasquatch to a 9-8 victory and wrote his name into the baseball record book. The manager for the Republic bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from García, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game." Juan García hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, singled in the 10th and hit an RBI single in the 12th. In 26 games this season García is batting .355 with 38 hits and no home runs. He has scored 17 runs and driven in 15. |
