5-Hit Game for Lewis Wednesday, September 7th, 2016 5 hits in 5 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day and when it does, it's exciting. Today Anthony Lewis of the Maple Marauders had a sensational 5-5 game against Jersey at Legends Park. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark, but it didn't pay off in a victory. The Jesters took the game 6-4. In the postgame press conference Lewis joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off... Right, Skip?" His manager retorted half-smilingly, "Only if we win the game, son... only if we win the ballgame. That's what they pay us to do, you know." Anthony Lewis singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Lance Harmon in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this season Lewis has put up a .270 batting average with 101 hits, 23 home runs and 60 RBIs. |
