Raines Belts 5 Hits
Wednesday, June 29th, 2016
All game long Montreal's Tim Raines was rattling the walls at The Frozen Tundra and banging out base hits against the Minnesota Berserkers and when the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a career day, a 5-hit day, but no victory. The Berserkers defeated the Bandits 11-6 to take a little of the glitter of the occasion away.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 25-year-old center fielder said, "To get 5 hits and win a ballgame, that would have been a very special day. But we didn't win today. It's not easy to be happy when you lose. Only losers do that."
In all, Raines collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a spot in the record book.
Tim Raines singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Currently Raines is batting .348 with 49 hits and 5 home runs. He has knocked in 15 runs and scored 29 times.
