Bombers Lose Joe Ward
Monday, April 25th, 2016
The South Carolina Bombers were dealt a severe blow when Joe Ward was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the San Francisco Earthquakes. After the game, the team trainer reported Ward might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 25-year-old reliever out for the rest of the season with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. They indicated it would take Ward at least 12 months to heal.

Looking at his season stats to date, Ward has no saves in 8 relief appearances with a 1-0 record and 1.69 ERA.
