No Hits for Ortíz, Streak Ends at 21
Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015
The San Diego Hops won the game 5-2 over the Carolina Crush. At the same time the Crush mound corps did what no other team could do. They stopped the 21-game hitting streak of Hops first baseman Miguel Angel Ortíz. But that was still not enough to win the game.

"Our pitchers might have focused a bit too much on stopping Ortíz," the Carolina manager commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Hops have other hitters, and they did their job today."

Ortíz is batting at a .361 pace this season, picking up 197 hits in 545 at-bats with 37 home runs, 114 RBIs and 92 runs scored.
