Shields Bashes 6 Base Hits
Monday, May 4th, 2015
6 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is Tim Shields of the Montreal Bandits. He tore up the Eureka Hornets to the tune of 6 hits in 6 at-bats in the Montreal 14-4 win today at Labatt Bleue Park.

"Shields was a tough out today," the Eureka manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."

Tim Shields singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Claude Howard in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

This season Shields has banged out 39 hits in 107 at-bats for a .364 average with 1 home run. He is getting on base at a .415 pace and his totals also include 16 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
