Blanchard Takes Home RCL Top Batter Award Monday, September 1st, 2014 When Peter Blanchard stepped up to the plate in August, he did it with confidence and today he was honored with the Roberto Clemente League Batter of the Month award. The young Minnesota first baseman posted a .367 batting average with 12 home runs, 33 RBIs and scored 30 runs. Blanchard also worked pitchers for 15 walks to post a .437 on-base percentage. Thus far this year Blanchard is hitting .359 with 39 home runs, 113 RBIs and 102 runs scored. |
