Three times he celebrated by pounding the ball out of Don Corleone Park. He kiddingly told reporters after the game, "Hopefully, I can continue to close my eyes and swing as hard as I can. It worked well today." The powerful Carolina second baseman tagged 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 6 runs and scored 3 times in his three-home-run outburst. Jackson added, "Seriously, I just try to swing early and often to give myself a chance. I let the pitcher supply all the power, I just try to figure out how to get the bat on the ball." "We talked about changing our strategy for the third one... and then he hit another homer," the New York manager said. "We just couldn't get him out."
