Texas-South Carolina Trade: O'Quinn for Rogers
Monday, June 30th, 2014
After prolonged negotiations Texas agreed to ship 25-year-old minor league starting pitcher Reijiro Yamaguchi, 21-year-old minor league left fielder Roy O'Quinn, 23-year-old minor league first baseman Walt Dobson, 18-year-old minor league closer José Parra and 25-year-old minor league shortstop Stephen Cook to South Carolina for 26-year-old starting pitcher Aaron Nelson, 27-year-old starting pitcher Jeremy Rogers, 24-year-old minor league reliever Mark Thompson, 20-year-old minor league starting pitcher Emerson Webber and 22-year-old minor league first baseman Gerald Becker. The deal is awaiting confirmation from the league office but neither team expects any hang-ups. "It took longer than expected," said one GM, "but we knew that the deal was going to happen."
To date this year in 15 starts, Rogers has crafted a 1-8 mark with a 3.57 ERA.
