Republic Send Hawkins to Washington Saturday, October 5th, 2013 It's all done except the paperwork. The So Cal Republic and the Washington Capitalists have agreed to a trade that will send 24-year-old minor league right fielder Elliott Hawkins, 19-year-old minor league catcher António Rojas and 18-year-old minor league right fielder José Gonzáles to Washington, while 30-year-old left fielder Chance Everett will be shipped to So Cal. A top front office executive with the Republic described the trade talks as "quick and easy." "We're glad to get this deal done. We think it's something that helps our ball club and it didn't take too long at all to sort this one out," he said. Everett is currently hitting at a .267 pace with 31 home runs, 89 RBIs and has scored 103 times. |
