Swallows Suzuki September's Top Hurler Monday, October 1st, 2012 Over the past month Tsutomu Suzuki has turned quite a few heads. He's young, talented and able to pitch with the established arms in the Central League. He proved all that and now he's been named September's Pitcher of the Month. The rookie for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows posted 3-1 mark and a 2.36 ERA. In 5 starts he tossed 34.1 innings, permitted 27 hits and fanned 45 batters. For the season Suzuki has logged 11 wins and 10 losses and struck out 149 batters in 148.1 innings while compiling a 3.64 ERA. |
