Four-bagger Feast: Ohayashi Slugs 3 for Yokohama
Sunday, July 22nd, 2012
Yokohama left fielder Takahashi Ohayashi sensed he was going to have a good game at the plate, but he underestimated just a little bit. Prior to the game, Ohayashi predicted he would hit a home run against the Tokyo Yakult Swallows.
During batting practice he told his teammates, "I really got my swing down pat. I feel some thunder in the lumber. I'm gonna get me a home run in this game." He was right. He did hit a home run -- three of them, in fact -- pacing the Bay Stars over the Swallows 8-4.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Ohayashi told reporters after the game.
To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
Takahashi Ohayashi walked in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Ton Yano in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Ton Yano in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Roku Yoshikawa in the 7th.
Presently Ohayashi is batting .208 and has collected 14 home runs, 41 RBIs, .296 OBP and scored 34 runs.
