Nishimura Takes This Week's Trophy Monday, July 2nd, 2012 His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Tetsu Nishimura was rewarded with the Central League Player of the Week honors. The scrappy Yomiuri Giants shortstop hit .538 while collecting 7 hits in 13 at-bats, 3 home runs and 5 RBIs. This year Nishimura is batting .332 with 66 hits, 12 home runs, 50 RBIs, 20 walks, .401 OBP and has scored 34 runs. |
