Purujit Sizzles -- Smokes Lions for 5 Hits Friday, September 8th, 2017 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day. Yomiuri's Muralidaran Purujit had a very special day against the Lions when everything came together for him and he did just that -- collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and led the Yomiuri Giants to a 23-4 win at Ballpark of Yamagata College. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Purujit said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em." Muralidaran Purujit singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Shi-lin Chew in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Ienobu Kino in the 4th and singled in the 6th. This season Purujit is batting .368 with 50 hits, 11 home runs, 24 RBIs, 19 walks, .439 OBP and has scored 34 runs. He has played in 34 games. |
