Pacific League Names #1 Pitcher in May Thursday, June 1st, 2017 Takahiro Nakamura really put his best foot forward in May with 4 wins and no losses and walked off with the Pitcher of the Month honors in the Pacific League. When he got the start for the Saitama Seibu Lions, it was good news for his club, but bad news for the opposition. In 28.1 innings of work, Nakamura limited opposing batters to 16 base hits and a .167 batting average. He notched 24 strikeouts, issued 9 walks and had a 3.18 ERA. In 11 starts this year Nakamura has crafted a 5-3 record and a 4.94 ERA. |
