ORIX Manager Gets the Pink Slip; Crockett Let Go Tuesday, October 11th, 2016 You can't fire the players when times get tough. Vincent Crockett learned that the hard way today as he was dismissed from his managerial position with the ORIX Buffaloes. Citing a need to make the change to "shake things up", a team official said it was time to move on. "We respect what Vincent has done for the club and we thank him for his time here, but we just think the future of the Buffaloes needs to be handled by someone else and needs to move in a different direction," said the club's general manager in a prepared statement. For his part, Crockett remained upbeat about the decision. "I know it's a business and sometimes you've just got to make a change," he said. "I want to thank ORIX for the opportunity to manage here." He stated he's currently unsure about his future in the game. "I'd love to continue to be involved in baseball, but I'll have to see what opportunities are out there for me." Team officials are expected to announce an interim manager in the next few days. |
