Yamada Week's Top Player Monday, August 18th, 2014 Central League pitchers tried and tried all week long to stop Kazuyuki Yamada, but to no avail. His eyes would light up when he came to the plate and he hit everything in sight, batting .643 for the week to win the CL Player of the Week Award. The Hanshin third baseman cracked 9 hits in 14 at-bats, 1 home run, drove in 4 runs and scored 7 times. So far this season Yamada has put up a .279 batting average with 87 hits, 7 home runs and 46 RBIs. |
