Suzuki Sidelined for 11-12 Months
Thursday, July 24th, 2014
It took the Tohoku Rakuten team doctor a while to realize it, but starting pitcher Juro Suzuki won't simply play through a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament after he got hurt throwing a pitch in today's Fighters-Golden Eagles game. At first, it looked like Suzuki might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 11-12 months.
His record this season is 2-3 in 7 starts and Suzuki has a 7.15 ERA.
