Shirai, Sakamoto Suspended for Fracas Friday, June 20th, 2014 Yomiuri and Tohoku Rakuten have been advised by the league commissioner that the Giants Masashige Shirai and the Golden Eagles Joji Sakamoto have been suspended 5 games each for instigating the brawl at yesterday's game at Ballpark of Yamagata College. This season Shirai is batting .250 with 7 hits, no home runs, 5 RBIs, 3 walks, .344 OBP and has scored 5 runs. He has played in 15 games. For the season his stats show Sakamoto has no saves in 22 relief appearances with a 4-0 record and 5.57 ERA. |
