5-Hit Blitz by Hanshin's Yoshida Saturday, June 14th, 2014 No matter what the Tokyo Yakult Swallows threw at him today, Shiro Yoshida hit it. He easily handled Swallows pitching, going 5 for 7 and helping the Tigers to a 21-7 triumph at Rebels Ballpark. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball." The Tokyo Yakult skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we might just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure." Shiro Yoshida grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Kiyoshi Ine in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th, hit a two-run double in the 8th, struck out in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th. In the 2014 season Yoshida is hitting .343 with 11 home runs. |
