PL Selects Memoto August's #1 Pitcher Sunday, September 1st, 2013 In August, Masahide Memoto tore through the Pacific League like a seasoned veteran -- quite impressive for a player only 18 years old. The young Hokkaido Nippon-Ham starter posted a 4-1 mark and an ERA of 3.57 to earn the Pitcher of the Month award. In 35.1 innings he collected 41 strikeouts while limiting the opposition to a .227 average. Memoto has made 20 starts this season, posting 15 wins and 3 losses. Opposing clubs are batting .232 against him and he has 154 strikeouts in 135.1 innings with a 3.33 ERA. |
