LBL's Top Player, Edgar of Montreal Monday, May 19th, 2014 19-year-old John Edgar made a few Montreal headlines during this past week as the rookie center fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Lester B. Person League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 14 hits in 24 at-bats to put up a .583 average. Edgar collected 6 home runs, 14 RBIs and scored 14 runs. This year Edgar has hit at a .439 pace and produced 16 RBIs, 7 home runs and scored 18 runs. |
