Tulane's Johnston, Cy Young Award Winner Friday, June 15th, 2012 He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Paul Johnston performed like a veteran on the hill for the Tulane Green Wave and walked away with the Rod Dedeaux League Cy Young Award in the process. The 20-year-old Green Wave star fashioned a 10-1 won-loss record in 2012 with a 2.32 ERA. In 81.1 innings of work and 11 starts, Johnston struck out 96 while giving up 63 hits and 18 walks. He held opposing batters to a .211 average. |
