Buckeyes Pérez and Gators Peña Suspended for Fight Sunday, April 23rd, 2017 Today the league office handed out 4-game suspensions to Mariano Pérez of the Buckeyes and Francisco Peña of the Gators for their roles in a benches-clearing skirmish at Ballpark of Bloomfield College yesterday. The league commissioner said in the statement to both organizations, "This league does not condone fighting and aggressive conduct on the field, thus we had to take action to discourage this behavior in the future." This year Pérez is batting .254 with 15 hits, 1 home run, 7 RBIs, 3 walks, .313 OBP and has scored 10 runs. Peña's record up to now is 0-and-0 with no saves and a 6.33 ERA. He has given up 25 hits in 27 innings with 25 strikeouts. |
