LSU-Cal State Fullerton Brawl, Day and David Suspended
Tuesday, April 11th, 2017
One player challenged the other with some angry words at the Tigers-Titans game at South Paris College Grounds yesterday. There was some pushing and shoving -- then the dugouts emptied. There was a lot of scuffling, but no punches thrown. When order was finally restored and the dust settled, the umpires ejected LSU's Mike Day and Cal State Fullerton's Gilles David.

Now both antagonists will get some time off, courtesy of the league commissioner. They were suspended 5 games for inappropriate and aggressive behavior.

This season in 28 games, Day has hit at a .275 clip with 30 hits, 1 home run, 8 RBIs and 16 runs scored.

David has compiled an ERA of 2.51 so far this season, winning 0 games with 1 loss and 1 save. In 13 relief appearances he has hurled 14.1 innings, yielded 16 hits and struck out 12. Opposing hitters have batted .308 against David.
