Thompson 5-6 for Crimson Tide
Tuesday, April 4th, 2017
If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. Pat Thompson showed how it's done as he went 5 for 6 against the Oklahoma State Cowboys and helped the Alabama Crimson Tide beat them 14-8.
The manager for the Cowboys told the BNN sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames."
If Thompson keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise.
Pat Thompson hit a two-run home run off José Galindo in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, tripled in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.
This season Thompson is batting .287 with 18 RBIs, 18 runs scored and 2 home runs.
