Davis Torches Buckeyes for 5 Hits Tuesday, March 14th, 2017 Thomas Davis exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Titans Ballpark. The Alabama right fielder had a field day against the Ohio State Buckeyes, finishing with a 5-5 day and a spot in the record book. "It's a shame that we lost the game. It's really hard to enjoy what I did today," he said, lamenting the 19-15 loss. "You would think 5 hits would do it." Asked about his great day, he replied, "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple. I focus just to see the ball and try to get a good pitch." Well, Davis must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. Thomas Davis doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Dwight Powell in the 5th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. This year Davis is hitting .259 with 7 hits, 1 home run, 2 RBIs and has scored 4 runs. |
