Cougars Lose Josh Shafer Saturday, March 11th, 2017 Josh Shafer at first refused to leave today's USC-Houston game after he suffered a bone spur in his elbow while throwing a pitch. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Houston reliever said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Shafer out of action for 4-5 months. |
