Winters's Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Thursday, March 9th, 2017 Long hitting streaks don't happen very often and when they happen it perks up everybody's interest. No one knows how long it will go -- it could end tomorrow -- but baseball fans and Matt Winters are enjoying the moment right now. The 21-year-old Mississippi State left fielder extended his string to 20 consecutive games in Crowley College Grounds today. Winters got 1 hit, but the Tulane Green Wave got the victory. They toppled the Bulldogs 9-3. Matt Winters flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. |
