Injury Forces Fred Butler Out Friday, May 4th, 2012 The Stanford Cardinals learned that Fred Butler is likely to be out for 4 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the UCLA Bruins. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be shoulder inflammation. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Stanford manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Fred is back in action." In 7 starts this year Butler has fashioned a 4-2 record and a 1.93 ERA. |
