Clemson Parts Company with Skipper Robin
Saturday, May 7th, 2016
It was supposed to be just another day at the ballpark, but it didn't turn out that way for Dennis Robin. In a meeting with the Clemson owner and general manager Robin found out he was being let go. After today's meeting the front office staff announced Robin's firing. They declined to comment on who his successor might be, saying only that it would done quickly.
"Dennis Robin is a good baseball man and classy individual, but we don't think he's the best person to lead this ballclub at this time," said the Tigers general manager. "We wish him all the best in the future." Robin, whose in-game decisions have drawn a lot of criticism from local media of late, left the ballpark immediately after the meeting and could not be reached for comment.
