Plug Pulled on Spencer -- Skipper Fired in Florida Thursday, June 4th, 2015 Florida has fired manager Tim Spencer. "We were not doing the things you've got to do every day," the Gators general manager told reporters. "We saw that things were not going to change. We had huge expectations coming into the season and we did not live up to them." The current coaching staff will be assigned to run the ballclub in the interim until a new manager can be hired. Spencer was told of his dismissal yesterday morning and was not available for comment. The Florida spokesman called it a "sensitive and emotional" meeting with Spencer -- too sensitive to bring up whether Spencer would be offered another job in the Gators system. |
