League Suspends Elder Monday, May 11th, 2015 Following an intense confrontation with the home plate umpire in which he was ejected, Sycamores third baseman Silas Elder was suspended 5 games by the league. Elder had to be physically restrained by his manager and appeared to make a few threats toward the umpire. He was upset by a called third strike in a game with Florida at Ballpark of Bismarck College. Elder could not be reached for comment on the suspension. So far on the season Elder is hitting .341 with 11 home runs, 25 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 43 hits and played in 36 games. |
