Thursday, May 22nd, 2014
The Oregon Ducks told the press today at a news conference at Crunch Ballpark that starting pitcher Glenn Ritter would soon begin serving a 10-game suspension for using an illegal controlled substance in violation of league rules.
The club official said, "Glenn will not contest this and will accept the punishment. He acknowledged his error and vowed not to do this again. We, as an organization, do not condone this conduct and will do all we can to keep this from occurring in the future."
This year Ritter has made 9 starts, thrown 47.2 innings, fanned 73 batters and walked 11. His won-lost record is 2-2 with a 5.48 ERA.
