Harrison Homers 3 Times Against South Carolina
Monday, April 7th, 2014
Indiana State left fielder John Harrison sensed he was going to have a good game at the plate, but he underestimated just a little bit. Prior to the game, Harrison predicted he would hit a home run against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
During batting practice he told his teammates, "I really got my swing down pat. I feel some thunder in the lumber. I'm gonna get me a home run in this game." He was right. He did hit a home run -- three of them, in fact -- pacing the Sycamores over the Gamecocks 10-1.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Harrison told reporters after the game.
To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
John Harrison struck out in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Ray Torain in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Bryan Chapman in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Gerald Heard in the 8th.
For the year Harrison is batting .182 with 4 home runs, 10 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
