Yoichibei Taniguchi Captures BOL Award Monday, September 25th, 2017 It was a fantastic week for St. Paul first baseman Yoichibei Taniguchi and it was capped off today with the announcement that he was named the winner of the Buck O'Neil League Player of the Week Award. Last week Taniguchi hammered the ball at a torrid .423 pace, going 11-26 with 1 home run, 8 RBIs and 1 run scored. In his stats this season, Taniguchi has posted a batting average of .329 with 46 hits in 140 at-bats, 6 home runs and 29 RBIs. He has also scored 17 runs, walked 11 times and compiled a .386 OBP. |
